Each Raffles Hotel featured a unique pattern inspired by the local culture, heritage, and environment, composed of three elements: an organic pattern, a geometric pattern, and a base colour. These elements could be used individually or combined to bring variety and personality to applications, enhanced with metallics, foils, and special finishes to add a tactile feel to the colour palette.
For each hotel, the process began with taking the initial design concepts, and redrawing and artworking the illustrations. The next step involved testing component sizes and creating scatter proofs in both digital CMYK and Pantone litho print, as well as incorporating embossing and other finishes. The final stage was to compile an asset library of each hotels pattern with set templates for a variety of hotel items.
